CSAP Questionnaire

The answer to Question 3 is ‘D’ - Politicians.

Today’s reform movement has been propelled from the beginning by powerful political and economic interests.

According to Harold McGraw III, Chairman, President and CEO of McGraw-Hill, publishers of CSAP, "McGraw-Hill Education is also helping to drive the transformation of education, both in the U.S. and abroad."

We’ll say, operating profit for the company in 1993, before high stakes testing, was $49 million.  In 2003 operating profit rose to a staggering $321.5 million.  Education has become the new "market place" "creating widespread opportunities for testing and assessment offerings."  We have tolerated a climate where instead of the money going to our schools the schools are going to the money.
