CSAP Questionnaire |
|
The answer to Question 1 is ‘D’ - About $45 million.
The fee paid to McGraw-Hill to develop, publish, distribute and score the test is approximately $15 million per year. However those figures do not include the cost of preparation or the cost to administer the exam absorbed by local school districts. The actual cost to implement the CSAP is estimated at around $45 million annually (equivalent to 1,500 new teachers).
The cost to administer the exam is calculated by ($43,319 (avg. teacher salary) * (5 days/178 avg. school days) * 27,677 teachers. These calculations do not include the costs for test-prep guides and testing consultants used to prepare children to take the test. It is important to note that many districts use additional standardized tests such as ITBS and NAEP, incurring an even greater expense. |
